If you need to correct your name on your IRS Form 2290 after transmitting it, log in to your ExpressTruckTax account, edit your name, and create a new return with a different first used month than your first return and follow the steps to complete the return.
When you get to the IRS Payment page, select EFTPS or Check/Money Order and complete your return. The IRS will send you a letter regarding the second payment for your new return. Once you receive the letter, contact the IRS and explain that you filed under the wrong name, and retransmitted to correct it. The IRS will then apply the tax paid to the correct return.
