After transmitting your Form 2290 to the IRS, you will receive your stamped Schedule 1 in minutes irrespective of whether or not you have paid your HVUT amount. If you choose Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW) as your payment method, the tax amount will be deducted directly from your bank account within 1 or 2 days.
If you choose the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) as your payment method, you must initiate the transfer yourself by visiting www.EFTPS.gov within your filing deadline.
If you choose Check or Money order as your payment method, you must send your HVUT amount to the U.S Department of Treasury before the filing deadline. You can postal mail your check or money order to the following address:
