Though IRS may not validate the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) you enter, your return will be rejected for duplicate VIN if you file with the same tax year, First Used Month (FUM), Employer Identification Number (EIN), and VIN for more than once during the same tax year.
If you enter an incorrect VIN, the IRS will accept your return and issue a stamped Schedule 1. You need to file a VIN Correction. However, you can do it for FREE if the original return was filed with us.
